• What people are saying…

    “My family has loved working with Kelli! We recently completed our year-round package with her, and will definitely continue to schedule family photo shoots in the future. Starting with our maternity shoot, we loved how comfortable Kelli made us feel, and knew that the pictures would be great. Since then, we’ve had four photo shoots (newborn, 3 month, 9 month, one year) and have been absolutely thrilled with the results. Kelli has been able to capture the first year of our baby’s life, and has given us keepsakes that we will cherish forever. She’s professional without being stuffy, her turnaround time is very quick, and her images are creative and beautiful. It’s been a pleasure working with Kelli, and we’re so grateful that we purchased the year-round package.”

I can relate…

As a mother of three boys, I have the slight tendency to notice little girls.  Especially sweet little girls with eyes like these:

Isn’t she to die for!! Anyhow, this sweet little girl goes to my boys’ pre-school.  I have been admiring her all year long – the eyes, the hair, and the cutest personality!! I was really happy that she and her family came to Jack’s 5th. birthday party (last month).  Her mom and I had an instant connection of –  3 kids,  and ALL that comes with the third! You are now outnumbered and getting through the days, especially when they are still babies.  She mentioned to me that she still had to send out a birth announcement for her baby and I just compassionately laughed and said, “I get it! Don’t worry people understand, it will happen when it happens.”  A couple of weeks later I was SO honored when she asked me to take their family pictures and help with the baby announcement!

We went to a neat, wooded park called, Montevalle Park.  I somehow forgot, (blame it on my 3 kids), that it was the solar eclipse RIGHT during our entire session.  The lighting was so unique – a golden, amber,  muted light.  I kept on saying, “Wow, the light is so interesting!” Ha! What a dork I can be!! Anyhoo, I’m pretty happy with the results of that ‘interesting light’.   I hope you agree!

Not only is she a beautiful girl, but look at her beautiful, ahem – handsome brothers!

Gorgeous kids = gorgeous parents!

A couple more of my favorites…

Thank you to this sweet, sweet family for letting me capture this special, crazy time in their lives! I totally get this phase that they are in and love that I was to take a step back and enjoy these moments from behind my lens ;)!

XOXO,

Kelli

I totally agree! Let me toot your horn, so to speak, but I adore these pictures and this family that I have never meet. Blame it on the light or the talented photographer? Perhaps it’s the photogenic family? Whatever the case, I was captavativated by this blog and these photos, great work!

OMG! what a cute family!!! cutest lil siblings, big sister loves her brothers.

Birthday Girl!

Last week I got Miss Payton in front of my camera again for a little pre-Birthday fun! You may remember her from here:

{6 days new}

And here:

  {9 months old}

It always amazes me how fast time flies!! I swear she was JUST born!

Happy Birthday to this sweet, sweet baby girl! I am SO happy that I get to capture her and her big sister growing up!!

“How big is Payton? SO BIG!!”One of my favorites!!! Even though it doesn’t show those gorgeous blue eyes, this black and white I love.

Lastly, I have to share a picture of Payton’s big sister, Cayla.  I took this picture when Cayla was about to turn one.  I can’t believe the resemblance the girls have to each other in these pictures!

{Cayla on left, Payton on right – both 11 months}

And, here they are together back in February for Valentine’s pictures.

{Cayla 2.5 years, Payton 9 months}

Many thanks to the Rhodes family for letting me “play” with their gorgeous girls!!!

XOXO,

Kelli

Payton, it sure looks like you had quite a special 1st bitdhray party with your family and friends! Wish we were there. We could tell you liked the frosting you licked your cupcake clean! (that’s my favorite part too =)) Yea, Payton is 1!

This is a big one.

This is a big post, because it was a big year for the Terry family!  I met this sweet family a little over a year ago to take their maternity pictures at Balboa Park.  I was so excited to take their pictures.  They were really comfortable in front of the camera, are so photogenic and I just love the mom’s style! The maternity session was a success and they signed up for the Beyond Words year package! Here’s a little look back at what the year package entails!

On January 30th, 2011 George Andrew Terry was born!

Then, we blinked! And, he was 6 months old!! (UTC park)

Next up, the Holidays! Family picture time. George is now 10 months. A perfect day for a stroll at Old Poway Train Park.

Last up (for now!). George is up and running (almost 15 months), at La Jolla Shores Beach.

Wasn’t that fun?! With each session I did with this family, I always had a big smile on my face while editing their pictures!  They couldn’t be any cuter and incredible nice to boot! Thank you again Terry Family for giving me the honor of documenting this most special year! I look forward to many more!

XOXO,

Kelli

Oh, boys.

A few weeks ago we had a big rain weekend here in San Diego.  We didn’t leave the house once, it was fabulous! To keep busy, I thought it was a perfect time to take some pictures of my boys.  So I asked, ahem, BRIBED them to let me take a few pics.  With Tootsie-rolls in hand I was given about 2.2 seconds.   Honestly, after about 90 seconds the wrestling began, the crying came and I was ready to let them go play in the puddles! Man oh man, it’s SO hard to take pictures of my own children.  I did get away with a few, which make me smile. These pictures are so them – my little stinkers!  I should really be fair and show all the pictures that got sent to my trash (72 of the 80 taken) ;). Maybe that will be the second installment.  Until then, here they are!

Stopppp! I’m laughing cause I don’t know how to feel. First, Jack can’t be turning 5. It just doesn’t make sense. I love the little gangly bodies, Jack’s open zipper, and Colten’s sugar lips. Hudson’s the King and that’s that. Beautiful, Kelli.
