• What people are saying…

“My family has loved working with Kelli! We recently completed our year-round package with her, and will definitely continue to schedule family photo shoots in the future. Starting with our maternity shoot, we loved how comfortable Kelli made us feel, and knew that the pictures would be great. Since then, we’ve had four photo shoots (newborn, 3 month, 9 month, one year) and have been absolutely thrilled with the results. Kelli has been able to capture the first year of our baby’s life, and has given us keepsakes that we will cherish forever. She’s professional without being stuffy, her turnaround time is very quick, and her images are creative and beautiful. It’s been a pleasure working with Kelli, and we’re so grateful that we purchased the year-round package.”

22 days new!

I love getting that email from my clients that they are expecting their second child.  It is so much fun watching these families grow.    It’s also so neat witnessing them with their second newborn versus how they were with their first.  Having a little toddler running around the second time makes the session all that more entertaining :D.  Paolo was such a good baby & as you will see, his big sister is so proud to welcome him home! She was happy as can be, with a splash of sass!   Thank you to the N family for welcoming me into your beautiful new home and letting me capture your sweet baby (again)!

Sweet baby Hannah Belle

Treasure the old and appreciate the new… Such a perfect phrase for this next session.  This family was referred to me by a previous client.  As a photographer, there isn’t a compliment I appreciate more than when my clients refer me to their friends and family.  So thank you, thank you, thank you for spreading the love and bringing new families my way!

Rather than my typical posed newborn sessions,  I am venturing more towards ‘lifestyle newborn photography’; capturing families as they are, in their element,  where they are completely comfortable and hopefully relaxed ;)!  I am loving the way the pictures are turning out,  it’s been so great to capture the first days at home with their new little ones.  A time that is so sweet and yet so fleeting.

So with that, here are some of my favorites from my time with Hannah and her parents.  They are madly in love with her and for good reason! Hannah is as SWEET as can be!

Thanks again Danielle & Andy for letting me capture the beautiful life that was brought into your home.  I’m looking forward to watching her grow.

Baby Paul

Every time I think about this session, I get the biggest smile on my face! Do you know the kind of smile I am talking about?  The smile that you can’t seem to wipe off….the kind that make your cheeks hurt! THAT, was this session!

Due to the precious new addition of Paul, I was able to work with this beautiful family again!  It is a privilege that I’ve been able to capture them bringing home both of their babies now. It’s an honor that I do not take lightly and one that I am so grateful I am able to capture.  Being welcomed into a family’s home, to capture them as they are, in their own perfect space, has been a great new style change for my newborn photo sessions.  How lucky am I, that I get to work with families that make my job such a joy?!

The love you are about to see in these images is almost tangible, this home is one that would make Pinterest jealous, and Paul is the most perfect addition to this incredible family!

Prepare your hearts to be melted in 3…2…1….

Oh the tip toes….One of my favorite details!

The most perfect, tiny features.

Yes, Jen, the supermom/walking Anthropologie model/Pinterest guru made that sign.  Beautiful right?!?!

Sweet sweet kisses for her brother.

BWSPhoto051514BabyPaul-68A HUGE shout-out to the Vasquez family for once again trusting me to capture another special time in their lives.  I adore you guys and love watching your family grow!

A little look back at, (ahem) January! lol ;)

Okay – I have a small confession to make here. This session was from JANUARY of 2014!!! Yikes, not good business on my end.  But, I’ve wised up a little this year and I just got a fabulous intern to help me out with all this blogging and Facebook stuff that I clearly don’t do well.  She’s a wonderful photographer herself and I’m looking really forward to teaching her a bit about the photography world while she helps dig me out of my social media rut! 😉  So bare with me while I make up for the last 8 months.  It’s been a great year with some of my most favorite sessions ever!

So, back to that session/blog post from January…

To be honest, the end of 2013 was a little rough. The Holiday season nearly did me in.  I found myself repeating the saying, ‘Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it’, many times over.  2013 was my busiest year yet, and for that, I am so grateful and proud of this accomplishment.  2013 was also very busy with my family life. We moved homes smack-dab right in the middle of holiday picture season, my 3 boys were all in soccer, tae kwon do, and various school functions, and to top it all off Ryan and I had various work and personal functions to attend.  By the time January rolled around I was a zombie.  My camera had been stowed away and I truly had no desire to dust it off.  This worried me….bad.

Then, I got a voice mail from one of my favorite Coronado moms.  I automatically related to her frazzled and a little bit panicked voice.  She stated that her family just found out that her husband was going to be deployed in SIX short days and as she was walking around her home she realized there was not a family picture with her youngest daughter (just turned 1).  Right then, the spark in me returned.  I felt a huge need to help her and I yearned to capture her family!  I did not think twice and called her back with true excitement in my heart and we set up the session for 3 days later.  She wanted something easy and not too stressful, she has 4 children after all – ranging in the ages of 1-10.  I am all about the easy and stress-free sessions.  I want everyone to to be themselves so I can capture them as they naturally are. We decided on meeting at their home and talking a 5 minute walk down to the Coronado Ferry Landing, which is what they normally do on their Sunday mornings.

This session truly represents why I love photography and do what I do.  From her somewhat desperate phone call, to meeting her entire family (and instantly connecting to them), to following them around for an hour on their Sunday walk and capturing them just being them, to editing each picture with a huge smile on my face, to pressing the send button on the email sharing the gallery, to getting the most heartfelt message thanking me for capturing these images.   Enough with the rambling, here are some of my favorites with one of my favorite families!!Sneakpeek_131Sneakpeek_130 Sneakpeek_125Sneakpeek_126Sneakpeek_128Sneakpeek_124Sneakpeek_123Sneakpeek_122Sneakpeek_121Sneakpeek_129Sneakpeek_133  I hope you all (all 2 of you who read my blogsite!) ;D, see why this session was SO wonderful!! A perfect beginning to 2014!! A HUGE thank you to the D Family for renewing my love for my camera and this thing I call work! XOXO, Kelli
